LAKE PROVIDENCE, LA - Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Virginia Brister, age 77 an Educator & Bookkeeper, of Lake Providence will be held at 10:30AM on Monday, November 7, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Lake Providence.

Reverend Mitch Munson will officiate.

Graveside services will be held at 4PM on Monday, November 7, 2011 at Longstraw Cemetery, 5501 Louisiana Highway 145, in Choudrant, Louisiana.

Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove & Lake Providence.

Mrs. Brister passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Carroll Nursing Home in Oak Grove.

She is preceded in death by her father, Clifford Anderson Spillers, Sr., her mother, Emma Agnes Spillers, and her brother, Clifford Anderson Spillers, Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Marion Kenneth Brister of Lake Providence; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Anderson "Andy" and Laurie Brister of Lake Providence; daughter and son-in-law, Divia Jane "Dee" and Chester T. Henshaw of Oak Grove; granddaughter, Jessica Jane Copes Williams of Ruston, Louisiana; granddaughter, Emily Ann Copes of Oak Grove; granddaughter, Allison Elaine Brister of Lake Providence; grandson, Jacob Andy Brister of Lake Providence; granddaughter, Heather J. Henshaw Berry of Forest, Louisiana; granddaughter, Jamie Dale Bostick of Epps, Louisiana; great grandchild, Jessica Blair Fabela of Forest; great grandchild, Sadee Grace Williams of Choudrant, Louisiana; niece, Melanie Spillers Boyte of Mer Rouge, Louisiana; great niece, Aundrea Mahfouz of Little Rock, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are: Greg Baker, Roger Merrith, James Thornton, Gene Styron, Jimmy Hughes and Brian Howard.

Pallbearers for graveside service at Longstraw Cemetery are Lamar Spillers, Brandon Williams, Mickey Boyte, Drew Spillers, Don Britt, Chester Henshaw and Speedy Edwards.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 6, 2011 between the hours of 5 to 8PM at First Baptist Church in Lake Providence.
