BASTROP, LA. Funeral services for Ms. Mary Jane Smith will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. Bro. Kevin Sanders and Bro. Eddie Jones will officiate the services. Interment will be at the Bonita Road Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.
Mary Jane Jones Smith was born July 13, 1951 in West Carroll Parish, Louisiana to Retha Marie Baham Jones and the late Lloyd Jones. She passed away on her birthday, July 13, 2013, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. Ms. Smith is preceded in death by her father and a sister, Connie Renee McGhee.
Mary Jane was a member of the American Legion in Bastrop and a retired beautician. She was a happy, smiling, kind, and loving person. She loved and was devoted to her family and friends.
She is survived by her four daughters, Rani Johnson, Aretha "Runtsey" Lightsey, Krisi Ward Webb, and Renee Lightsey all of Bastrop, Louisiana; five sons, Jackie Lloyd Jones and wife Lisa of Sterlington, Louisiana, Timmy Jones of Sterlington, DeWayne "DeWee" Hawkins and wife, Nikkie of Bastrop, Jamie Lightsey and wife Melissa of Farmerville, Louisiana, Trinity Scarborough and Kalob Brown, both of Bastrop. Ms. Smith is also survived by her mother, Retha Marie Mills of Bastrop, two sisters, Nelda Reagan and husband, Victor of Bastrop, Peggy Hall Norris of Bastrop, and two brothers, Ronald Jones and wife Connie of Goodwill, Louisiana and Billy Wayne Hickman of Bastrop.
Serving as pallbearers are her sons, DeWayne Hawkins, Jamie Lightsey, Jackie Lloyd Jones, Tim Jones and Kalob Brown. Also serving as pallbearers are Dalton Hawkins, Bryer Lightsey, and Chad Boseman.
Visitation will be Monday, July 15, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.
